Ostapye residents "transfer" UOC community to OCU

On August 26, 2022, at a meeting of the territorial community, residents of the village of Ostapye, Velyka Bahachka District (Poltava Eparchy), voted to transfer the Exaltation of the Holy Cross community of the UOC to the OCU, reports OCU “priest” Pavel Yakymenko on his Facebook page.

The villagers were notified in advance about the meeting on Facebook. “We invite all patriots of Ukraine to the meeting, which will be held on August 26 (Friday) near the church at 12 noon. It's time to put an end to the Moscow Patriarchate," the announcement said.

The rector of the Exaltation of the Cross Church of the UOC also came to the meeting. He refused to go to the OCU and did not give the keys to the temple. Nevertheless, judging by the photo published by Pavel Yakymenko, on August 28, he already held a “service” at the Exaltation of the Cross Church.

As reported, in the village of Lynovytsia, schismatics are preparing to “transfer” the UOC community to the OCU.
