DECR MP head and Antioch Patriarch discuss the situation in Orthodox world

On September 1, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, met with His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East. This was reported by the official website of the DECR MP.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Council of Churches, which is taking place in Germany.

Metropolitan Anthony conveyed the fraternal greetings of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus to the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Antioch.

“The participants in the conversation discussed the prospects for further development of cooperation between the Antioch and Moscow Patriarchates, the situation in the Orthodox world, and a number of other issues of mutual concern,” the message says.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that at a meeting of the World Council of Churches, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier blamed the Russian Orthodox Church for supporting the war in Ukraine.
