Church school caught fire due to shelling in Kupiansk
On September 26, 2022, at around 11 a.m., the building of a church school at the St Nicholas Church of the UOC in the town of Kupiansk (Kharkiv region) caught fire due to an ammunition hit, as reported on the Facebook page of the Main Directorate of the DSNS of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. The fire also started in a nearby shop. The total area of the fire was approximately 500 square metres.
One person was injured.
"Two operative departments of the 44th State Fire and Rescue Unit left to extinguish the fire at 11:10. Already at 11:55, firefighters managed to localise the fire and save the building of the St Nicholas Church. The final elimination of the fire occurred at 16:30," the Head Department of the State Service for Emergencies of the Kharkiv region reported.
Earlier, St. Alexander’s Church of the UOC was damaged by shelling in Temirivka.
