On November 9, 2022, Alla Ruzaeva, a resident of Rivne, was walking along Kotliarevskogo Street and noticed a cloth with the face of the Mother of God embroidered in the trash. All in all, the passer-by found 10 shrouds of the Mother of God, Jesus Christ, and quite a few other church utensils in the container, reports the Rivne Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
"I was picking up my daughter from the lyceum when I noticed this. When I came closer, I could not believe my eyes. The rubbish bin was full of church utensils," says Alla Ruzaeva.
All found items, she said, were brought to the eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Rivne and asked the priests to tell people that church stuff, especially when it bears the names of saints, should not be treated in this way.
As reported, statues of the Virgin Mary and the Apostle Andrew were found near rubbish bins in Kyiv.
