In Volyn village Gribovitsa Kiev Patriarchate seized graveyard chapel

The community of the UOC-KP in the village of Gribovitsa, Ivanichi district, Volyn region, did not confine itself to the seized Holy Protection Church of the UOC.

A few weeks ago, the locks of another religious building of the village, which belongs to the old architectural heritage, were found replaced. On August 28, the Day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, "the mysterious" situation suddenly cleared up: the supporters of the Kiev Patriarchate entered the chapel to serve in it, reports a UOJ correspondent.

The parish priest of Holy Protection communities of the UOC in Gribovitsa Archpriest Igor Margita reported about the fact of the replacement of locks to local law enforcement bodies. At the same time opponents of the UOC community traditionally accused him of changing the locks. However, representatives of the Kiev Patriarchate failed to explain how they possessed the keys to the locks in this case.

The graveyard chapel in Gribovitsa is a small religious building, which is a historic architectural landmark, as it was discovered by the UOC community long before the Kiev Patriarchate seized the Holy Protection Church. The preservation of this object has already been subject to heated disputes when some villagers without the permit of the relevant official bodies "repaired" the chapel.

With regard to his last appeal to the law enforcement bodies the priest of the UOC received the following reply from the police department: in the fact of the replacement of the locks on the chapel doors they found no reason to enter the incident into the Unified Register of the Pre-trial Investigations.
