Ukraine lags behind in the world’s happiness rating

Ukraine ranks 132 in the world’s happiness rating. It is testified by the World Report, prepared upon an order of the UNO by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network organization, writes UINP

Norway appeared the happiest country in the world. It is followed by Denmark, tagged by Iceland, Switzerland and Finland. Russia’s taken 49th position in the rating, its neighbors being Italy (48), Uzbekistan (47) on the one side, and Belize (50) and Japan (51) on the other.

Among other notable countries – the USA occupies 14 place, Germany – 16, Great Britain – 19, and France – 31.

Central African Republic (155), Burundi (154), Tanzania (153), Syria (152), Rwanda (152) and Togo (150) are at the tail-end of the rating.

The report is dedicated to the International Happiness Day. Researchers took into account six factors – GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support in complicated situations, trust for the authorities, freedom of decision-taking as it is perceived by the citizens which impacts their life quality, and generosity (assessed in terms of the amount of the recently made donations on charity).
