WASHINGTON, D.C. — The St. Tikhon’s Seminary Mission Choir brought the joy of the Nativity to the nation’s capital on December 17, performing at the 2025 White House Holiday Open House. The choir offered a selection of sacred hymns as visitors toured the White House to admire the festive Christmas decorations.

Led by Rev. Caleb Lewis, Director of Music and Lecturer in Liturgical Music at St. Tikhon’s, the Mission Choir was joined by Brian (Seraphim) Cardell, Director of the St. Patriarch Tikhon Library, along with members of the St. Tikhon’s Monastery Music Program.

The performance highlighted the seminary’s commitment to sharing the beauty of Orthodox liturgical music with wider audiences. Visitors praised the choir’s renditions, noting how the hymns brought a sense of peace and reverence, enhancing the holiday experience. The event marked a meaningful celebration of faith, music, and tradition at the White House.

Previously, the UOJ reported that St. Tikhon's Seminary had held a crash course on the Eight Tones.
