On April 8, 2020, participants in a meeting on the situation with the coronavirus, which was chaired by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, decided not to soften the quarantine requirements during Easter holidays. This was reported by the President’s Internet site.
“Now we can’t talk about easing quarantine measures, especially taking into account the Easter holidays, when there is a threat of crowding and many Ukrainians return home for the celebration,” the President’s Office said.
The authorities also referred to the call for quarantine measures that were voiced by the World Health Organization.
“Quarantine is what saves us. Due to the fact that we introduced it on time, the spread of the coronavirus is slowed down. We can see that many Ukrainians are responsible fulfilling quarantine standards, although this is not easy. We must take care of the people and do everything to make their life easier at this time,” Zelensky said.
Earlier, the President said that the state will do everything so that everyone can celebrate Easter at home.
