The church was built in 2010 and belonged to the Horlivka Eparchy of the UOC.
The Annunciation Church in Bakhmut, located on Yubileyna Street and part of the Horlivka Eparchy of the UOC, was completely destroyed as a result of shelling, reports Bahmut.in.ua.
After the first attacks in October 2022, the bell tower was damaged, and in May 2023 it was reported that the church had been completely ruined. The clerics stated that only a pile of stones, a broken gilded cross and part of the church's mosaic remained from the building.
As reported by the UOJ, the number of UOC churches damaged since the start of the war has become known.
