Holy Trinity Monastery will host a USDA-related roundtable on October 15 as it continues raising concerns about New York energy policies and the proposed Rolling Hills Wind project.

JORDANVILLE, NY — Holy Trinity Monastery will host a roundtable on October 15 to discuss the effects of New York State energy policies on the monastery and nearby landowners. The event will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Seminary Hall on the monastery’s grounds.

John Rich, identified by the monastery as President Trump’s Special Envoy for American Landowners, will participate in the discussion. According to the monastery, Rich is prepared to bring concerns raised by local residents and the monastery to leadership at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Topics will include renewable energy projects, New York policies concerning the classification of agricultural land, and issues involving the Small Business Administration. The monastery is encouraging local residents and other interested members of the community to attend.

The monastery said Rich was appointed by President Trump in June 2026 to advocate for farmers, ranchers, and private landowners. In that role, he works with USDA leadership on issues affecting local communities and large-scale energy projects.

Holy Trinity Monastery is located at 1407 Robinson Road in Jordanville. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP in advance. The roundtable is intended to provide an opportunity for the monastery, area landowners, and government representatives to discuss concerns surrounding energy policy and land use.
