UOJ Releases 'An Appeal to Heaven' Documentary

The short film gives viewers an inside look at Holy Trinity Monastery's battle against a proposed wind farm project near the historic site.

AUG. 15, 2026 — The Union of Orthodox Journalists of America has released a documentary titled, "An Appeal to Heaven: Sacred Ground in the Crosshairs of Industry," which offers an inside look at Holy Trinity Monastery's battle against a proposed wind farm project by Terra-Gen, LLC.

The monastery, led by Bp. Luke of Syracuse, argues that the project threatens the environment and the character of the monastery and seminary, which are located at a nationally recognized historic site. It is particularly concerned about the visual impact, turbine noise, and effects on the contemplative environment that attracts monastics, seminarians and pilgrims.

This film from UOJ-America reveals the immediate threat to Jordanville from industrial wind turbines and attempted land grabs by foreign influence.

The documentary is currently available to subscribers on our website and Patreon and will be made available on all platforms Monday, August 24.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Jordanville hosted a conference to address the wind farm proposal.
