Metr. Antony Released From Hospital After Five Days
The Ukrainian hierarch returned home after five days in the hospital and will undergo further testing as doctors work toward a diagnosis and treatment plan.
SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ — Metr. Anthony of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA has been released from the hospital after five days of medical examinations and treatment, according to an update from Abp. Daniel. The hierarch is now recovering at home while preparing for additional medical testing in the coming days.
Doctors have not yet established a definitive diagnosis or prognosis, as the results of completed examinations are still being reviewed and further tests remain underway. Abp. Daniel said Metr. Antony has recovered from the initial symptoms that led to his hospitalization, describing that development as positive. The results expected in the coming days are anticipated to provide doctors with a clearer diagnosis and treatment plan.
Metr. Antony remains under close medical supervision and has been instructed to rest while the diagnostic process continues. He expressed deep gratitude to clergy and faithful who have offered prayers and sent messages, letters, emails, cards, and other expressions of support. Abp. Daniel said these gestures have lifted the Metropolitan’s spirits and strengthened him in prayer.
The Archbishop asked the faithful to continue praying for Metr. Antony, invoking the protection of the Most Holy Theotokos and asking the Lord to grant him peace, patience, strength, and healing. Further information will be shared as it becomes available and appropriate.
