Uncut Mountain Press Releases St. Raphael’s Against Socialism
Saint Raphael’s latest published work urges Christians to measure modern political ideals against the enduring truth of the Gospel.
PHOENIX, AZ — Uncut Mountain Press has released "Against Socialism," a newly published volume featuring the writings of St. Raphael of Brooklyn and presenting an Orthodox Christian critique of modern revolutionary ideology.
The book is the fourth installment in The Works of Saint Raphael of Brooklyn series. Across 56 pages, St. Raphael examines the principles commonly associated with the Enlightenment and the French Revolution, particularly the slogan “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.” According to the publisher, he evaluates these ideas through the lens of Orthodox Christian teaching and their impact on Western societies.
Rather than offering a purely political analysis, St. Raphael focuses on the spiritual implications of modern ideological movements. The publisher describes the work as a practical guide for Orthodox Christians seeking to understand and respond to contemporary social and political currents. Drawing on the Gospel and the example of Christ, the saint argues that authentic freedom and truth are found in Christian life rather than in revolutionary programs.
Uncut Mountain Press says the volume is intended to help readers engage critically with modern ideologies while remaining grounded in Orthodox tradition. The softcover edition measures 5.5 by 8.5 inches and is available through the publisher.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Uncut Mountain Press published a major patristic study by St. Hilarion.
