Media: “Moleben” on Sophia Square attracts several thousand instead 30 000

"Prayerful standing" on Sophia Square in Kiev

According to estimates made by Ukrinform, several thousand people were present at the prayerful standing, although earlier the head of the Kiev police, Andrei Krishchenko, said that 25-30 thousand people would take part in the action.

In addition, as the UOJ reported, people were massively brought to the venue by buses and minivans, while the Kiev-Sviatoshin district administration ordered the arrival of the “delegations to attend the event in the highest possible size”.

On October 14, on the Day of Defender of Ukraine and the Feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God, a prayer for autocephaly, organized by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, was held on Kiev's Sophia Square.
