Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra opened after coronavirus lockdown

On May 25, 2020, the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was opened after the coronavirus lockdown. This was announced by the Head of the UOC Representation to European International Organizations, the vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis, Bishop Victor (Kotsaba) of Baryshevka in his Telegram channel.

“By the grace of God, today from 9 a.m. our main shrine – Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra – is open. The quarantine regime is lifted,” the hierarch wrote.

As reported by the UOJ, on May 12, 2020, the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary, spoke about the situation in the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and reported that more than half of the Lavra's brethren are currently healthy.
