The parishioners of the UOC showed how the doors of the Intercession Church in the village of Trebukhiv, Kyiv region, look like after an unsuccessful attempt by supporters of the OCU to seize the shrine. The video was posted on Instagram by Yana Korniyko.
The footage shows that in addition to the locks, the supporters of the OCU also damaged the doors to the temple.
“How is that possible? People have nothing sacred. Atheists!” said the girl.
In a commentary by the UOJ, the rector of the temple, Archpriest Mykhailo Pavliuk, said that the OCU activists had left the church territory the night before, around 17:00.
According to him, the parishioners of the UOC are on duty around the clock at the entrance to the temple in order to prevent possible provocations from the OCU.
“We have closed the temple. We welded up the main entrance on our own, which they broke open. Next to the temple we have a small room, a refectory, and we will serve there,” he said.
The priest also said that before the raid, someone disabled all the video surveillance cameras: “The video surveillance was somehow disabled for us. So the cameras did not record what they (supporters of the OCU – Ed.) did. The cameras were connected to the Internet and displayed on our computers. Then I called a specialist, he tried to fix it for 2 hours and, thank God, everything worked out. But there are no records. Since the Brovary authorities are on their side, anything can happen.”
As the UOJ reported, visiting people in camouflage tried to seize the Intercession Church of the UOC in the village of Trebukhiv, Kyiv region.
