Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople sent a letter to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, in which he expressed his warm wishes for the speedy recovery of the President’s spouse, Elena Zelenskaya, who fell ill with COVID-19 disease and was hospitalized in Kiev, reports “Orthodox times”.
“We assure you that we wholeheartedly pray to the Lord to help her resume her daily activities and responsibilities soon,” the Ecumenical Patriarch said in his letter while hoping that the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon so that the normalcy is restored in the country.
As reported earlier, the head of the Kyiv Patriarchate Filaret Denisenko said that Patriarch Bartholomew asked the President to expedite the liquidation of the UOC-KP.
