On April 4, 2023, human rights activists filed a complaint with the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv in the interests of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra about the inaction of the investigator, who did not enter information about the criminal offense into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations. Archpriest Nikita Chekman wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
Father Nikita noted that on March 31, 2023, a message about the spread by radicals in social networks of calls for violence against believers of the UOC was submitted to the Pechersk police department.
“The investigator had to immediately enter information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations (URPI), start an investigation and provide the applicant with a relevant extract. The requirements of the law have not been met by the law enforcement agency, so we hope that the complaint in the interests of the monastery will be considered by the Court as soon as possible, and the Pechersk Police Department of the GNP in Kyiv will begin an investigation in order to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Lavra’s lawyer added.
Recall that the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra filed a lawsuit against activist Yevhen Karas.
