On 7 April 2023, Minister of Culture of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko said how the UOC believers treat God.

In a live broadcast on the YouTube channel "My Ukraine", he said that "all these actions that are now taking place in the monastery clearly demonstrate how the UOC believers "respect the laws, protect cultural heritage, and, excuse me, how they ultimately treat God”.

Asked by a journalist whether the same thing would happen to other lavras, Tkachenko said, "We have the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra case for a start".

Tkachenko also said that the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra houses "museum exhibits to which all citizens should have access".
