The Primate of the Belarusian Church, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslawye, stated that there is no need for autocephaly in his Church, and this issue is imposed from outside. He told about this in an interview with russian.rt.com.

“The history of the previous century shows that when this topic was raised, then, as a rule, there was a group of people behind the autocephalists who, in one way or another, did not show themselves very well here, in their homeland, and, in general, this is such a church organization that was not supported, recognized at that time,” His Eminence Metropolitan Veniamin said.

According to the Archpastor, "this issue is recalled by secular people who want to advance their ideas and wishes." In this regard, it is important to remain vigilant and "avoid any inclinations to ensure that this topic is not raised in one format or another."

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Epiphany called on the Belarusians to request their Tomos from Phanar.
