The World Council of Churches (WCC) condemned the Israeli army's missile attack on the St. Porphyrios Greek Orthodox Church in Gaza.

The WCC’s statement says: "We pray for the healing of all the wounded and express our condolences to Patriarch Theophilos III and all our Greek Orthodox brothers and sisters in Christ."

WCC head Jerry Pillay wrote: “We condemn this unconscionable attack on a sacred compound and call upon the world community to enforce protections in Gaza for sanctuaries of refuge, including hospitals, schools, and houses of worship."

"Our prayers go out for healing to all those wounded, along with our condolences to Patriarch Theophilos III and all our Greek Orthodox brothers and sisters in Christ", the WCC’s statement reads.

As reported, at least 20 people were killed after a missile attack on a temple in Gaza.
