Head of UOC Legal Department: Dumenko's words about won trials are a lie

The head of the UOC Legal Department, Archpriest Alexander Bakhov, said that the words of Sergei (Epiphany) Dumenko that the UOC wins almost all trials against the UOC are lies and manipulation, reports the UOJ.

According to Archpriest Alexander, "to say that the OCU ‘wins’ in the courts is manipulation. Because during this year, the courts considered the issue of which courts will hear the cases on the seized UOC churches. In other words, in which jurisdictions the cases will be heard – administrative, civil or economic."

"And this means that the courts have not even begun to consider the essence of the dispute over the seizures of UOC churches. Therefore, to say that the supporters of Sergei Dumenko win today ‘every single case’ in the courts is a lie!" stressed Archpriest Alexander.

The head of the Legal Department of the UOC also noted that "there are no final decisions in those courts where the dispute over the seized UOC churches has begun. Furthermore, it will take at least three years, if not more, to go through all the courts.

At the same time, he recalled that "over the past year, Sergei Dumenko has repeatedly stated that the parishes of the UOC do not want to join the OCU because of the lawsuits and certain legal reasons.” But all of a sudden, once a new year came, they turn out to have won all the lawsuits! Well, miracles!" noted Archpriest Alexander Bakhov.

Earlier the UOJ wrote that Dumenko said that the OCU was winning all the trials against the UOC.
