UOC: When officials answer 12,500 times, they'll understand something

Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, Deputy Head of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, said in his telegram channel that despite the officials ignoring the believers of the UOC, their appeal will not go unnoticed, because the authorities see the scale of the problem given the number of signatures under the appeals, and “they will be able to come to grips with that."

“The parishes of our Church write letters to the President, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and the Prime Minister in defense of their rights and against the renaming of the UOC. The authorities began to respond. In fact, these are replies with no real answer. And this is understandable and expected. At all events, dear parishioners of the UOC, do not be discouraged. That’s what we are counting on. After all, after one or another high-ranking official signs the same answer 12,500 times (to each parish of the UOC), and sees how many real signatures are under each of these letters, he will understand something. All of the statesmen and functionaries do see the situation. They see the scale, they see the concern of believers, which will leave its mark,” wrote Fr. Nikolai Danilevich.

Recall that on February 22, 2021, the head of the Department for Citizens' Appeals of the Office of the President of Ukraine announced that the collective petition of the UOC believers addressed to President Vladimir Zelensky will not be considered by the Head of State.

As the UOJ previously reported, Poroshenko initiated a bill on the liquidation of religious organizations.
