ES MP: Law 8371 is constantly blocked, it lacks serious support

Iryna Herashchenko, MP from "European Solidarity", stated that the bill No. 8371 is not being brought for consideration by parliamentarians in the second reading due to lack of support among deputies, Telegraf reported on April 9, 2024.
"We would have considered and voted on this bill within several plenary days. Why isn't it being brought to the session hall? It's a mystery," Herashchenko lamented.
According to her, the monomajority has repeatedly appealed to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, but this issue is blatantly blocked.
"Stefanchuk indeed takes steps to put this bill on the agenda, but there is no serious support among the 'servants' themselves. I think that 'Servant of the People' and its satellites from the 'Oposition Platform For Life' have serious lobbying for the UOC," the MP assumes.
As the UOJ wrote, Herashchenko also believes that one of the reasons why the issue of bill No. 8371 "remains unresolved" is the Ukrainian government's benchmark in terms of the negative reaction of conservative Republicans in the United States.
