Ministry of Foreign Affairs reps discuss with Phanar head visit to Ukraine

On May 17, 2021, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar discussed with Patriarch Bartholomew his visit to Ukraine. The diplomat wrote about this on his Facebook page.

Vasyl Bodnar wrote that the head of the Phanar received him and his colleagues. “We discussed the preparation of the Patriarch’s visit to Ukraine in the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence,” he said.

The meeting, which took place at the residence of Patriarch Bartholomew in Phanar, was attended by the Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul Alexander Haman.

As reported earlier, the head of the liquidated UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko stated that the purpose of the visit of Patriarch Bartholomew to Ukraine is to emphasize the dependence of the OCU on Constantinople.
