On July 18, the priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church served the Liturgy in the Cathedral of St. Spyridon of Trimythous of the Kerkyra Metropolitanate of the Church of Greece on the Greek island of Corfu, where the relics of the saint are located, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, Deputy Head of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, reports on his Facebook page. The priests of the UOC were concelebrated by one of the clergymen of the Kerkyra Metropolitanate.
As part of a pilgrimage trip to Greece, pilgrims led by Father Nikolai and Father Dmitry Badiuk from the Kyiv church in honor of St. Spyridon, took part in the Divine Liturgy and worshiped the relics of St. Spyridon of Trimythous. Then they met with the hierarch of the Greek Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Nektarios of Kerkyra.
The Cathedral of Saint Spyridon is an Orthodox church of the Kerkyra Metropolis, located in the center of the city of Kerkyra on the island of Corfu. It is dedicated to St. Spyridon of Trimythous, who is considered the patron saint of the island. The relics of the saint in the cathedral are one of the most revered shrines of the Orthodox Church.
As the UOJ reported, the delegation of the Romanian Church made a pilgrimage to the monasteries of the UOC.
