Kiev is set to open the first veteran space for Muslims in Ukraine, where warriors will be able to receive legal and moral support, as well as assistance with finding a job, reports Suspilne.

The space will include four rooms: a lobby, a prayer room (namazkhana), a room for educational sessions, and a room for chaplains and lawyers.

“In war, there is no difference in religion or nationality. We are all like one family, like brothers, fighting together because we have one enemy. But when the post-war period comes, many pay attention to halal food. They pay attention to the need for prayer and a room for worship. We need to create these conditions,” said Rahim Babaev, a veteran and Chairman of the Kyiv Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Union of Defenders of Ukraine.

All services for veterans who practice Islam at this space will be free.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier Volodymyr Zelensky participated in an iftar – a dinner held during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims – and awarded Ukrainian Muslim soldiers.
