Catholic Cardinal Peter Turkson said that US President Joe Biden, who advocates abortion, is not in a "state of sin", reports Lifenews.com.

Peter Turkson also said that Biden should not be denied Communion despite the fact that the US President advocates "the right to abortion" and recently he has allowed dangerous abortion drugs to be sold through the mail without a doctor’s visit.

According to the cardinal, withholding Communion from a person should be reserved only for “extreme cases,” and " The Eucharist should not in any way become a weapon".

“ If you say somebody cannot receive Communion, you are basically doing a judgment that you are in a state of sin,” the cardinal said. When asked if Biden is in a “state of sin”, Turkson said, “No.”

Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson is the first Ghanaian cardinal. Archbishop of Cape Coast from 6 October 1992 to 24 October 2009. President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace from 24 October 2009 to 31 August 2016. Prefect of the Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development from 31 August 2016. Cardinal-Priest of the Church of San Liborio from October 21, 2003.

As earlier reported, the Catholic Archbishop of Washington criticized Biden because of abortions.
