On November 18, 2021, Metropolitan Athanasios of Limassol of the Cypriot Orthodox Church stated that the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko has no canonical ordination, according to the Romfea publication.
Explaining his participation in the joint Liturgy with Archbishop Chrysostomos and other hierarchs of the Cypriot Orthodox Church who recognized the OCU, Metropolitan Athanasios wrote that he had not changed his views on the Ukrainian schismatics.
"I continue to believe, like other hierarchs of our Church, as well as most Orthodox Churches, that the approval of Epiphany as the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was contrary to the sacred canons and contrary to the established order of our Church," the bishop said.
Moreover, "Epiphany himself did not receive canonical ordination," said Metropolitan Athanasios of Limassol.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Metropolitan Athanasios of Limassol did not change his decision on the OCU.
