Presentation on St. Tikhon of Moscow at the 21st All-American Council
SPRINGFIELD, VA — Marking the centennial of the repose of the holy hieroconfessor Tikhon, patriarch of Moscow and enlightener of North America, the upcoming 21st All-American Council in Phoenix, AZ, will feature a presentation by Dr. Scott Kenworthy entitled “St. Tikhon of Moscow as a Model of Conciliar Church Leadership.”
Kenworthy is a world-recognized expert on Orthodox Christian history and Professor of Comparative Religion at Miami University of Ohio. He is also an Associate of Miami's Havinghurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies. Highly decorated, Kenworthy has received a number of fellowships, awards, and honors.
His most recent book, a comprehensive account of St. Tikhon's ministry in North America and revolutionary Russia, is set to release this November from Oxford University Press. Those interested may learn more about the book here.
The presentation by Kenworthy will feature a lecture followed by a panel of respondents. It is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, from 3 - 4 p.m.
