New Volume of Metr. Neophytos’ Homilies Released in English
A newly released volume of Metr. Neophytos’ homilies presents Orthodox spirituality as a living encounter with Christ through the saints.
FLORENCE, AZ — A new English-language volume featuring the teachings and reflections of Metr. Neophytos of Morphou has been released, offering readers an extensive exploration of Orthodox spirituality rooted in the witness of contemporary saints and the living tradition of the Church.
"The Homilies of Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou, Vol. I" presents the Cypriot hierarch’s reflections on faith, holiness, and the spiritual struggles of modern life. The 304-page softcover edition includes 46 full-page color images. Rather than presenting Orthodoxy primarily as an intellectual system, the book emphasizes the Church’s understanding of Christianity as a lived encounter with Christ through His saints. Particular attention is given to the spiritual legacy of three modern saints — St. Paisios the Athonite, St. Porphyrios, and St. Iakovos Tsalikis — whose lives and teachings are examined through Metr. Neophytos’ personal experiences and spiritual connection to them.
Published by Theomorphou Publications and distributed by Uncut Mountain Press, the work also addresses the spiritual confusion and ideological instability experienced by many contemporary Western seekers and converts to Orthodoxy. According to the publisher’s description, the homilies seek to provide a therapeutic and hopeful response to modern nihilism, addiction, and spiritual alienation through the continuity of modern apostolic experience within the Church.
