Uncut Mountain Press has released a landmark English translation of St. Hilarion Troitsky’s theological examination of Scripture, the Church, and Christian history.

FLORENCE, AZ — Uncut Mountain Press has announced the release of Bible, Church, History: A Theological Examination, a new English translation of Volume 2 in the collected works of St. Hilarion (Troitsky), available as of January 24, 2026. Translated by Fr. Nathan Williams, the volume presents a comprehensive patristic exploration of the relationship between Holy Scripture, the Church, and Christian history.

The book brings together more than a dozen theological treatises addressing themes such as true ecclesial unity and freedom, the role of Scripture in the life of the Church, repentance in Orthodox theology, and the Church’s reception of St. Peter’s confession. Several essays also examine the ecclesiology of the prophetic schools of ancient Israel, offering historical and biblical depth to contemporary theological discussions.

This publication completes St. Hilarion’s academic work at the Moscow Theological Academy and stands as a robust Orthodox response to heterodox approaches to Scripture and church history. The publisher notes that the volume provides readers with a deeper understanding of the biblical foundations of Orthodox ecclesial identity and mission.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Uncut Mountain Press released two titles from the Holy Monastery of the Paraclete.
