Metr. Saba Makes Historic Visit to Raleigh Parish
A historic pastoral visit energized a rapidly growing parish in Raleigh.
RALEIGH, NC — All Saints Church welcomed His Eminence Metr. Saba for his first archpastoral visit to the parish from March 20–22, marking a historic moment as the community received its first visit from a ruling Metropolitan. His presence offered spiritual encouragement and pastoral guidance to a growing congregation experiencing a notable influx of catechumens and converts.
The visit began Friday evening with Little Compline and the Akathist Hymn, followed by remarks emphasizing pastoral care and steadfast faith. On Saturday, Metr. Saba met with youth, answering questions and offering guidance, before presiding at Great Vespers and delivering a message on authentic Christian conversion and commitment.
Sunday’s Hierarchal Divine Liturgy drew a record 538 attendees. Metr. Saba later addressed catechumens, encouraging them as they prepare for reception into the Church. The visit concluded with supper and conversation, giving clergy and parish leaders another opportunity to spend time with the Metropolitan.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Saba said the Eucharist reflected unity and did not create it.
