On the day of Theophany, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine wished that the grace of Jordan would protect the Ukrainian land and fill the hearts of people with grace, reports the UOC Information Centre.

On the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church performed the rite of the Great Blessing of the Dnieper waters, not far from the Holy Protection Cathedral in Kyiv.

“I heartily congratulate all of you, dear brothers and sisters, on the great twelfth feast of the Holy Theophany, the Baptism of the Lord! May the grace of Jordan fill our hearts, our homes, our Ukrainian land and give it peace, hope for a better future and salvation. Happy holiday!” said His Beatitude after the prayer service, blessing everyone for Theophany bathing.
