KIBOGA — On Nov. 30, 2025, 32 local residents received Holy Baptism at the missionary center dedicated to St. John of Shanghai in Kiboga, Uganda.

According to the Russian Orthodox Church's Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, the sacrament was administered by Hieromonk Siluan (Brown), Dean of the Eastern Church District of Uganda and rector of the parish, together with parish cleric Priest Christopher Kizito and Priest Paul Baleijusa, rector of the Transfiguration parish in Nakabala.

Following the baptisms, the clergy celebrated the Divine Liturgy, during which the newly illumined Christians received Holy Communion for the first time.

The catechumens prepared diligently for eight months, regularly attending catechetical sessions. In the final week before their baptism, they participated in daily training seminars lasting approximately seven hours each.

Previously, UOJ reported that hundreds of children were baptized in Georgia's 72nd mass ceremony.
