Live Action Warns of Risks Linked to Abortion Pills

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Pro-life organization Live Action has released a new investigation examining the distribution of abortion pills in the United States, warning that expanded access through telehealth and mail-order services poses serious risks to women’s health. The findings were presented at a press conference on January 22 alongside a white paper and video report.

The report reviews the history, regulation, and safety data surrounding mifepristone, citing FDA figures and highlighting cases of women who died or suffered severe complications after taking abortion pills. Live Action argues that the rise of telehealth abortions has coincided with an increase in overall abortion numbers, driven largely by widespread pill distribution.

An accompanying video alleges that abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood locations, conduct minimal screening before mailing pills. Live Action called on federal authorities to suspend approval of mifepristone, reinstate stricter reporting requirements, and prohibit mail-order distribution, as debate continues over federal enforcement policy.
