St. Tikhon’s Monastery Announces April Marriage Retreat

SOUTH CANAAN, PA — St. Tikhon’s Monastery will host a Marriage Retreat with Drs. David and Mary Ford on Saturday, April 25, 2026, offering an enriching Orthodox experience for couples at the historic monastery grounds.

The day-long event begins at 10:30 a.m. with the first session titled “Mental Ascesis in Married Life,” followed by a complimentary lunch for all participants. In the afternoon, a second session—“Encouragement, Inspiration & Guidance from the Married Saints”—will explore the lives of holy married Christians as models for spiritual growth and virtue.

Retreat activities also include tours of the monastery grounds, iconography building, and museum along with time in the bookstore. Participants will gather for Vigil at 4 p.m. and enjoy a monastic-prepared dinner at 6:15 p.m., followed by the Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning. Each attendee will receive a complimentary copy of the Fords’ book, Marriage as a Path to Holiness, which highlights the lives of over 180 married saints.
