Pat Theophilos of Jerusalem urges Christians to pray for people of Ukraine

His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem made an official statement on the situation in Ukraine, reports the UOC Information and Education Department.

“With all our hearts, we are following the grave crisis of recent days in Ukraine and are deeply concerned about the human suffering of all our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The strongest power of a Christian is prayer. Therefore, together with other Christian leaders around the world, we call on all Christians to join in prayer for peace and for the people of Ukraine.

Here in Jerusalem, we offer our prayers at the site of the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, that God will grant wisdom and courage to all leaders and stakeholders. May He enlighten their minds to search for dialogue and unity and for lasting peace to reign.”

As the UOJ wrote, the Serbian Church will help the UOC and Metropolitan Onuphry.
