Polish Church calls for a Council of Primates

The Council of Bishops of the Polish Orthodox Church called on the heads of the Local Churches to meet and discuss the situation of world Orthodoxy. This decision was made at a meeting chaired by His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland with the participation of the entire episcopate on March 22, 2022, reports orthodox.pl.

The Council proposed to convene a meeting of Primates after the discussion of the current positions of the individual Local Churches on the situation in Orthodoxy in the contemporary world.

In addition, the meeting considered the canonization of new saints in the Orthodox Church of Constantinople and discussed Patriarch Bartholomew’s visit to Poland.

As reported, the Polish Council of Bishops called on Russia to stop the war in Ukraine.
