Orthodox Liturgy to Be Held in Yosemite Valley This November

Fr. Yuri Fokin of Holy Virgin Cathedral in San Francisco and Fr. Athanasius Ferguson of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Santa Rosa will celebrate the liturgy at the national park.
MARIPOSA, CA — On Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in Yosemite Valley at Yosemite National Park, according to the Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR).
Fr. Yuri Fokin will serve as priest and Fr. Athanasius Ferguson will serve as deacon. Vespers and matins will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7 – the liturgy will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8.
The service will take place at the Valley Chapel, and donations to the chapel are appreciated.
For park entrance, a standard pass is $35 per vehicle, which is valid for three days. An annual Yosemite National Park Pass is $70. The park only accepts credit or debit cards.
