OCTOBER 15, 2025 — St. Athanasius College is now accepting registrations for its upcoming enrichment course, "Types and Symbols in the Bible," starting Sunday, November 2, at 5:00 p.m. PT.
Led by Dr. Christopher Lockwood, this five-week course explores how Scripture reveals Christ through patterns, images, and sacred signs. Students will learn to identify biblical types and symbols, connecting them to the Gospel, liturgy, iconography, and sacraments.
The modules are:
- Creation and Life
- Patriarchs and People
- Exodus and Shepherd
- Temple and Priest
- Kingdom and Anointed
The course features 120-minute sessions, including a 60-minute lecture and 60-minute live discussion, with recordings provided. No prior reading or prerequisites are required, making it accessible to all.
Lockwood, who earned his PhD in Orthodox Theology at Aristotle University in Greece, will guide students in reading Scripture symbolically with clarity, drawing from his expertise in Orthodox symbolism.
Enrolment is $50.
