First published in English in 1987, the work has remained a trusted companion for those seeking to confront the hidden battles of the heart through prayer, repentance, and spiritual discipline.
Originally written in the sixteenth century by Venetian priest Lorenzo Scupoli, Unseen Warfare gained enduring influence across both Western and Eastern Christian traditions. Its spiritual depth was recognized by St. Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain, who revised the text, and later by St. Theophan the Recluse, who substantially refined and translated it in the nineteenth century.
