St. Vladimir’s Seminary has opened registration for its June 2026 Summer Music Institute, offering intensive training and study in Orthodox church music and its English-language traditions.
YONKERS — St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary has opened registration for its 2026 Summer Music Institute, “Planting Orthodox Church Music in North America,” to be held on campus June 23–27, with a pre-institute intensive scheduled for June 22–23. The annual program will focus on the development and flourishing of Orthodox musical traditions in North America, with particular attention to the pioneers of English-language liturgical singing.
Renowned musicians and scholars, including Alexander Lingas, Vladimir Morosan, Photini Downie Robinson, Juliana Woodill, and Alice Hughes, will lead courses in vocal technique, choral conducting, and advanced seminars on Orthodox church music. Participants will have opportunities to refine musicianship, ear training, and analytical skills through lectures, workshops, and individual coaching.
The Institute offers three tracks—conducting, vocal technique, and advanced studies in liturgical music history—and is designed to combine rigorous musical training with immersion in the Seminary’s liturgical life and a spirit of fellowship among church musicians.
Previously, the UOJ reported that seminarians and alumni from St. Vladimir's Seminary were ordained and elevated worldwide.
