Hellenic College Names Dr. Timothy Patitsas Director of Theology Program
Dr. Timothy G. Patitsas takes the helm of Hellenic College’s Theology Program, bringing a “beauty-first” vision to faith and ethics.
BOSTON — Hellenic College has announced the appointment of Dr. Timothy G. Patitsas as Director of its Theology Program, recognizing a scholar-practitioner whose work embodies the unity of beauty and moral vision central to authentic Christian formation.
For two decades, Dr. Patitsas has served Hellenic College with distinction as Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics, mentor in study-abroad pilgrimages, and most recently as Interim Dean. His leadership has guided curricular renewal and fostered institutional growth, earning him widespread respect among students and colleagues alike.
Dr. Patitsas’ scholarship emphasizes an Orthodox “beauty-first” approach to ethics. In The Ethics of Beauty, he explores how ethical transformation begins with the soul’s awakening to divine radiance, drawing believers toward goodness, truth, and communion. His work extends to co-founding Beauty First Films, including Amphilochios: Saint of Patmos, highlighting lives transfigured by holiness and hope.
As he assumes the directorship, Dr. Patitsas brings both reflective intellect and pastoral imagination.
Previously, the UOJ reported that a Hellenic College alumnus returned to present memoir of Alaskan pilgrimage.
