OCA Delegation Attends Feast of St. Nina in Tbilisi
An OCA delegation strengthened ties with the Georgian Orthodox Church during the Feast of St. Nina in Tbilisi.
TBILISI, GEORGIA — Representatives of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) attended celebrations marking the Feast of St. Nina, Enlightener of Georgia, following an invitation from His Holiness Patr. Ilia II. Bp. Gerasim of Fort Worth and Archpriest Daniel Andrejuk represented Metr. Tikhon during the official visit, which concluded on January 28.
During their stay, the delegation met with senior hierarchs and clergy of the Georgian Orthodox Church to discuss church life, theological education, and prospects for cooperation. Meetings included conversations with Metr. Andria of Gori and Ateni and members of the Patriarchate’s administration. The visitors also participated in festal services at Sioni Cathedral, venerating the Cross of St. Nina.
Bp. Gerasim concelebrated the Divine Liturgy for the feast and delivered the sermon, later visiting the Tbilisi Theological Academy to learn about its post-Soviet revival and academic programs. The delegation conveyed fraternal greetings from Metropolitan Tikhon before departing Georgia.
