KERNERSVILLE, NC — Approximately 200 faithful from 13 parishes across North Carolina gathered at Holy Cross Orthodox Church for an evening lecture by Jonathan Pageau, who delivered a thought-provoking talk on the role of Christians in shaping culture through sacred art.
Pageau emphasized the need for what he described as “art of the narthex”—creative works that bridge the world and the Church, inviting people toward deeper spiritual realities. He encouraged artists and faithful alike to produce works that reflect beauty, truth, and the sacred, ultimately pointing toward Christ. The lecture resonated with a diverse audience that included both longtime Orthodox Christians and inquirers exploring the faith.
The event fostered not only intellectual engagement but also a sense of unity among attendees from multiple parishes.
