Metr. Tikhon Proclaims Timeless Power of Pascha in 2026 Message
Pascha is not a moment in time but an eternal reality that continually renews the lives of the faithful.
SPRINGFIELD, VA — Metr. Tikhon of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) delivered his Paschal message for 2026, proclaiming the Resurrection of Christ as a reality that transcends time and continually renews the lives of the faithful.
Reflecting on Christ’s raising of Lazarus, Metr. Tikhon emphasized that the Lord’s Resurrection is not bound by history or confined to a single moment. Rather, Pascha reveals the breaking in of divine eternity into human time, transforming all events through the radiance of life everlasting and signaling not only the resurrection at the end of time, but its fulfillment in Christ.
He pointed to the Church’s liturgical life as evidence of this uncontainable reality, noting that Pascha extends beyond a single day into Bright Week, the Paschal season, and even every Sunday celebration. This ongoing commemoration reflects the enduring power of the Resurrection in both worship and daily life.
Encouraging the faithful to embrace continual renewal, he stressed that each day offers an opportunity to begin again through repentance and participation in Christ’s victory. He concluded with a prayer that the joy of Pascha remain with believers always, as they grow in faith and experience the liberating power of the Risen Lord.
