Metr. Saba’s California visit highlights renewed focus on Paschal joy, youth formation, and daily Orthodox practice.

GARDEN GROVE, CA — Metr. Saba and Bp. Anthony of Los Angeles began an eight-day pastoral visit to Southern California parishes on April 18, opening their tour at St. Luke Church with liturgical services and youth engagement activities during the Paschal season.

Presiding over Orthros and the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Bright Saturday, Metr. Saba urged the faithful to preserve the joy of Pascha and pursue spiritual renewal. In his homily, he emphasized the call for believers to become “children from heaven,” pointing to the example of St. John the Baptist, who recognized Christ’s divine origin and supremacy.

Following the service, a Paschal procession was held around the parish grounds. Later, Metr. Saba led a discussion for Diocese Youth Day, addressing prayer life, family faith practices, and Orthodox teaching on human nature, encouraging consistency in prayer and fostering a home-centered spiritual life rooted in daily devotion.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Saba issued a Paschal message calling the faithful to live the Resurrection daily.
