Fr. Philip LeMasters to Teach Online Course on Eucharist

ABERDEEN, TX — Antiochian Archpriest Philip LeMasters will teach a new online course on the Eucharist through St. Vladimir’s Online School of Theology beginning October 6, 2026.

Titled “Living in Communion: Orthodox Ethics in Light of the Eucharist,” the course will examine how participation in the Eucharist shapes the whole of Christian life. Students who register within the next week will receive a 25% discount on the course fee.

Fr. Philip is Professor of Religion and Director of the Honors Program at McMurry University and serves the community of St. Luke in Abilene, Texas. He is also an author on Christian ethics, most recently publishing "Sex and Salvation" through St. Vladimir’s Seminary Press in 2025.

An experienced pastor and professor, Fr. Philip also teaches at the Antiochian House of Studies. His course will draw on both his academic work in Christian ethics and decades of pastoral and liturgical ministry.

The course will consider the Orthodox understanding that the Eucharist extends beyond the Divine Liturgy into every aspect of Christian life. Topics will include marriage, finances, care for the poor, and the Christian response to a world marked by violence.

St. Vladimir’s Online School of Theology described the course as an opportunity to consider how union with Christ through the Eucharist shapes the choices and responsibilities of Orthodox Christians beyond Sunday worship.
