RIVERSIDE, CA — Patristic Nectar Publications has released 'On Repentance,' a new collection of ascetical homilies traditionally attributed to St. Ephrem the Syrian, one of the prominent voices of early Christianity. The book is now available in both paperback and hardcover editions.
Known as the “Harp of the Spirit,” St. Ephrem is remembered for his biblical imagery, poetic language, and spiritual exhortation. The homilies in "On Repentance" present repentance not simply as sorrow for sin, but as a path toward restoration, transformation, and communion with God. The collection emphasizes the inexhaustible mercy of God and the possibility of spiritual renewal.
According to Patristic Nectar Publications, the volume appears in English translation for the first time. The publisher describes the work as a treasury of Syriac-inspired Orthodox spirituality that offers contemporary readers access to St. Ephrem’s reflections on repentance and divine mercy.
The paperback edition of "On Repentance" is priced at $19.99, while the hardcover edition is available for $27.99. Both editions are offered through Patristic Nectar Publications’ online store.
The release gives English-speaking readers an opportunity to encounter a collection of writings traditionally associated with one of the great spiritual teachers of the Syriac Christian tradition. Through its focus on repentance and God’s mercy, the volume seeks to present ancient Christian teaching in an accessible form for contemporary Orthodox readers.
Previously, the UOJ reported that a new volume gathered Mother Siluana Vlad’s prayers for spiritual life.
